Bangalore police have decided that women working in bars will be wearing sarees, salwar kameez or even a western wear but what ever uniform they will be adonning needs to be approved by the city police and not just this the Bangalore Police also wants Bars and Restaurants to apply for fresh new licenses from the police if they want to hire new women employee and later a gazette notification will be issued in this regard after taking permission from the state government.
Reports says that bars are misusing their women employee to lure their customers, the police also will keep a close watch on the interaction between the bar girls and the customers to prevent immoral activities.
Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari said these measures put in place by the department will help to control the situation in the city, many instances have come to our notice, women are being dressed obscenely and employees are made to dance and lure male customers, which is against the supreme court order.
To curb the malpractises in bar and restaurants we have set up these measures. There is no change in exiting timings, Liquor houses will function from 10 am to 11.30 pm.
On special occasions, if the liquor house owner intends to keep the liquor house open beyond the permitted hours, he should obtain special permission from the Licensing Authority remitting the necessary fees, he added.
